The '''Kuomintang''', abbreviated as the '''KMT''' is one of the 2 traditional main parties of [[the Republic]], along with the [[Democratic Progressive Party|DPP]]. The KMT was designed to be the more [[Political Position|right-wing]] and traditionalist option. Historically, the KMT supported the first work program, running the government more efficiently, and in general spending as much effort as possible working towards national goals. In recent months, the KMT was in government for 2 months, in a coalition with [[New Dawn]] in August and by itself in September. The KMT campaigned heavily about the Records and the second work program. The KMT lost the [[October 2024 parliamentary election|October elections]] to the DPP. The KMT suffered a split before the October elections with the right wing of the party breaking off to form the [[Reform Party]], which supports working constantly.
